Industrial Contacts Website Re-Design

Industrial Contacts previously relied on a supplier-hosted page, which limited its branding, customization, and overall user experience. My goal was to transform it into a standalone, fully branded website that would elevate the company’s credibility, improve usability, and drive customer engagement. By redesigning and building the site from the ground up, I established a stronger brand foundation, streamlined navigation, and created a more interactive and user-friendly experience. With a focus on intuitive design and SEO best practices, the new website not only informs and delights customers but also increases visibility and conversions, making it a powerful tool for business growth.

RESEARCH

To achieve this, I followed a UX-focused design process, incorporating research-driven decisions. As part of my process, I used affinity mapping to organize insights from user research and define key focus areas for the redesign. By grouping user pain points, business goals, and design enhancements, I was able to identify major challenges with the supplier-hosted site—such as limited branding, poor customization, and lack of SEO control. This helped me create a clear strategy to build a more intuitive, engaging, and fully branded website that aligns with both user needs and business objectives.

INFORMATION & ARCHITECTURE

Based on the findings from the affinity mapping, I identified key user pain points that directly inform the structure of our site. By analyzing these insights, was able to  prioritize simplifying navigation, improving content accessibility, and enhancing user flows. This sitemap is designed to reflect these priorities, ensuring that the website effectively addresses user needs and provides a seamless, intuitive experience.

THE BEFORE

The previous website, hosted on a supplier’s product site, had limited customization and poor navigation, affecting user experience. It lacked a unique brand identity and was constrained by the supplier’s platform, leading to slow performance and lower engagement.

THE RESULTS

The results of the web redesign, which transitioned from being hosted on a supplier’s site to an independent platform, have been highly positive. The new site offers greater flexibility, faster load times, and enhanced control over content and design, allowing for a more customized user experience. With better navigation and streamlined content, users can now easily access what they need, which has led to increased engagement and lower bounce rates. The shift has also improved site performance, security, and scalability, all of which contribute to a more reliable and user-friendly platform.
